What are you carrying around in your backpack that's just weighing you down?
When it comes to human development and reaching out for the next chapter of your life, nothing holds us back more than a full backpack of heavy baggage we bring along with us.
On one of my treks in Nepal a lady bought two of everything creating a huge 30kg back pack which she insisted she carry. In some way or another she felt obligated to carry this weight as some sort of penance for her past. A past that was rather colourful not not something to punish herself for. She struggled tirelessly up every hill and battled the pains and aches of going downhill with her heavy load. Until, finally, near the end of our reach for the summit, she broke down a cried the tears she'd been carrying around for 20 or more years.
My client in Nepal volunteered to be noted in this story because there are so many of us walking around carrying a load on our shoulders and wondering why we're just not reaching our goals. Here are just a few I have to deal with in helping people who work too hard to achieve too little in life because they're carrying too much in their backpack of life:
This list could go on. But in summary: guilt. It's the bag, and the bigger the bag, the more we seem to put in it.
A one on one coaching session can unpack a massive amount from your backpack and free up amazing amounts of energy.
